Weeks ago rising Baton Rouge, La. rapper NBA YoungBoy was arrested and held without bond in Austin, Texas after cops raided his show. There were no details on his charges at the time, as he was being held on an out of state warrant for an “undetermined” felony, but on Thursday (Dec. 8), YoungBoy is being charged with attempted first degree murder.

A deputy at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, where YoungBoy is currently detained, confirmed that he’s being held on $200,000 bond for the attempted murder charge. He was extradited from Austin to Baton Rouge Tuesday (Dec. 7) and booked on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old rapper, who was born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden but recently changed his name to YoungBoy Never Broke Again, caught a ton of ears with his recent 38 Baby mixtape, featuring fellow Baton Rouge stars Kevin Gates and Boosie BadAzz. His buzz was cresting, his YouTube videos were getting millions of views, and labels were calling.
